Dr. Rachel Thompson began her role as Chief Medical Officer at Core Clinical Partners at the beginning of 2024. Bringing almost 20 years of experience, she has a proven track record in developing effective teams and innovative programs in the medical field. Among her early career achievements at the University of Nebraska, she established a surgical co-management service and pioneered the practice of geographic rounding.

Before joining Core, Dr. Thompson held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital near Seattle and was the Executive Medical Director of the acute care services division at Swedish Health Services. In this role, she successfully led multiple service lines across five hospitals.

Dr. Thompson’s academic credentials include a Medical Degree (MD) and Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Washington. Successfully demonstrating her leadership in the medical community, she served as the President of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) until March 2023, and currently holds the position of Immediate Past President. Dr. Thompson’s wealth of experience and exemplary leadership abilities uniquely position her to enhance Core’s present operations while strategically shaping its future trajectory.
