Long-Time Tulsa Leader Dr. Darren Thomas Joins Core as System Hospitalist Medical Director for Hillcrest HealthCare

Tulsa, OK—Core Clinical Partners today announced that Dr. Darren Thomas will join Core as System Medical Director for Hillcrest HealthCare System.

Thomas is a long-time clinical leader in Tulsa, having worked at Tulsa-area hospitals for the past 17 years. He has strong ties to the city, its surrounding communities, and its clinical workforce. Prior to joining Core, Thomas worked at Saint Francis Health System as a hospitalist and prior to that at St. John Health System as an Associate Director and System Director of Hospitalist Services. He completed his residency training at University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine in Tulsa.

“Darren has strong, long-standing relationships with physicians and APPs throughout the Tulsa area,” said Core CEO Dr. Boykin Robinson. “His ties to the community and his track record building and leading clinical teams will be an extremely valuable asset to Core, Hillcrest HealthCare System, and its patients.”

“I am very excited to join Core Clinical as the System Medical Director,” said Thomas. “I get a lot of energy from seeing people work together a little better today than they did yesterday. That’s what I’ve been working toward at hospitals throughout Tulsa for nearly two decades, and I look forward to continuing that work at Hillcrest.”

Thomas is dual certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He grew up in Chickasha in Southwest Oklahoma and is the son of a carpenter and a home economics teacher. He enjoys being a father to his ten year-old twins, lifting weights, playing mandolin and guitar, and learning every day.

About Core Clinical Partners

Core Clinical Partners is a hospital-based physician services company founded on the principles of partnership, transparency, and clinical alignment, overseeing 25 emergency medicine and hospital medicine programs in five states and serving more than 500,000 patients annually. In a market where outsourced groups have become vendors to their hospitals and staffing agencies to their physicians and advanced practice providers, Core does things differently by providing unique partnership models for both health systems and physicians that align their own compensation to quality metrics. By combining the capabilities of a national group with the kind of individualized, on-the-ground service usually only found in smaller groups, Core is able to guide hospitals and health systems on their journey toward top-tier metrics and outstanding patient experience.
